abstract = "Magnetic reconnection is a universal physical process that
commonly occurs in magnetized plasmas. It can also be understood
as a mechanism that accelerates charged particles at the expense
of stored magnetic energy. In this work, we analyze a set of 127
dayside magnetopause crossing events that shows, among other
signatures, the presence of accelerated ion plasma flows
consistent with the magnetic reconnection framework. We use in
situ data from both THEMIS (75 events) and MMS (52) missions at
distinct local times and because they occur near the subsolar
region. Both east-west and north-south observed ion outflow
directions are then compared with those estimated by the
reconnection X-line model proposed by Gonzalez and Mozer (1974).
The models performance in predicting the direction of the
reconnection jets is evaluated.",
